According to Nick Green, of the Daily Breeze, another big change in the wind. Costco has filed an application with the city to build a larger store with more parking. This will be built on the 23-acre parcel on Lomita Boulevard adjacent to its current location. The new store would total 161,500 square feet on 17.5 acres. The current store is 148,000-square-foot store and features 761spaces compared to the new store which will offer 874 parking spaces for the shoppers convenience. The other interesting part of this story is that Home Depot located in the Crossroads Shopping center is considering moving in to the old Costco once the new structure and the Costco move in complete which is across the street for Lowes. The transformation of the Northrop Grumman facility to the brand new Wiseburn High school in El Segundo has begun. wiseburnhigh school rendering By the time the project is complete it will house the new Wiseburn high school and the three DeVinci chater schools tht are currently in the Wiseburn school facilities. This is the first school being developed in the South Bay in 50 years. This is rather an innovative concept. The Wisburn Hgh School and the DeVinci schools will share the building and certain facilities while remaining independent. This Saturday March 14, Kelsey Faith Potts of San Pedro, who would have turned 14. Tragically Kelsey died last fall from complications caused by a respiratory virus.
