The 2017 Holiday Light Festival Train Ride
Presented By The Griffith Park & Southern Railroad

In cooperation with The City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation and Parks
Starting the day after Thanksgiving, join us for an evening train ride around our festively decorated, one mile of track. Magical scenes and tens of thousands of lights will captivate you and your family and set the mood for a wonderful Holiday season.
The Ride Begins Friday November 24, 2017 at 5 pm
And continues every night until December 23 and then again from December 26 to December 30 – weather permitting.
The first train will leave at 5 pm every day. The last train leaves at 8 pm Monday through Thursday and 9 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
We reserve the right to close early if we reach maximum capacity or the weather is not cooperating.
WE WILL NOT OPERATE IF IT IS RAINING.
This event requires separate tickets that can be bought at the ticket booth in advance or the day of the ride, if available. We are not offering online sales at this time.
Tickets $4 per person
Includes one round trip on the Holiday Lights Express
Children 18 months and under ride free
Limited tickets will be sold for each evening. NO REFUNDS – Exchange only, subject to availability.

You must drive through Lot 1 in order to get to Lot 2.

We will hike from The Griffith Park Merry Go Round Lot 2 to
The Helipad At Griffith Park and then to continue to
The top of Mount Hollywood aka “Dante’s Peak.”
Round Trip Distance for this Level 5 Hike averages 6 Miles and averages 4.5 Hours.
(NOT A BEGINNER HIKE)
Color theme is Black and wear your Christmas Lights!
Items to bring are plenty of Water, Snack or Meal, Flashlight, Trail Running or Hiking Shoes are Mandatory.
This event will get crowded so please arrive early.
Please arrive early enough to stretch and hydrate prior to arrival.

Bring the family. We will be meeting in the parking lot right before the Little Pony Ride Area, and from there we can take a ride on the train together and take pics. (The parking lot is right before the parking lot for the train; if you pass us you can just make a u-turn). .
• Ugly Christmas Sweater is optional.. if you are already ugly!

A WATER CHECK WILL BE PERFORMED.
• For your safety and the safety of the group, if you do not take enough water or are not appropriately equipped for this hike, you will be turned away from doing this hiKe with us even if you show up.
IS IT DOG-FRIENDLY? Yes = This trail is Dog Friendly! While Griffith Park allows dogs on leashes, please for the safety of others please make sure your pets are also people and (other) pet friendly – no exceptions!
• You must pick up after your dog. And carry a small container to give them water.
• Always keep your dog leashed, except when inside a vehicle, tent, dog crate, or portable kennel. Do not allow your dog to wander freely, pursuant to Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Title 36, Chapter II, Sec. 261.8 (d).
• In addition, your dog must wear a collar with current tags at all times, as state and county laws apply on National Forest System lands.
