Cleopatra VII – Seductress or Politician?
I had the opportunity to tour CLEOPATRA : The Exhibition at the California Science Center near USC. 13,000 Sf of dramatic displays, the largest collection of Cleopatra-era artisans from Eqypt come alive!
Cleopatra became the Queen of Eygpt in 51 B.C. at only seventeen years old! Her country was losing strength against the Roman Empire. She charmed and seduced two of ancient Rome’s most powerful leaders, Julius Caesar and Mark Antony, and bore children with both of them. Then, barely two decades after coming to power she took her own life.
What is the real story? Was she truly the exotic beauty that Hollywood and the great artists have portrayed her? This exhibit provides a hint to who Cleopatra really was.
A complimentary audio tour, told in her voice, provides compelling insights into Cleopatra’s time as you walk among the colossal statues and gaze out the beautiful jewels.
The Exhibit will be here from May 23 – December 31, 2012.
