College Faire at THS

On, Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Torrance High School, students and parents will have the chance to learn about, and meet with, representatives from various colleges and universities in California and nationwide. The College Fair is an annual event jointly sponsored by the Torrance Unified School District, Torrance Council of PTAs, and the PTAs at North, South, Torrance, and West High Schools. The purpose of the College Fair is to help students navigate the various steps of the college application. The event provides students and parents the opportunity to speak to representatives from a variety of schools, including community colleges, regional occupational programs, state colleges, universities, private schools, and the Ivy Leagues.

The College Fair also provides students and parents the opportunity to participate in workshops that cover a wide range of topics, including admissions processes, scholarship opportunities, and preparing for college entrance exams. TUSD counselors and college-career counseling coordinators will also be available to answer questions.

All students are encouraged to attend and take advantage of this event. It is never too early to begin thinking about college and which one will best serve your future educational goals. There is a college or program that is right for every student’s future career plans.

The College Fair is free and open to the public. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Torrance High gym. Torrance High is located at 2200 West Carson Street, Torrance, California 90501. Parking is available on the backside of the school on Del Amo Blvd.
