Torrance, CA – We are proud to announce the recipients of the 2016 Gold Ribbon Awards: Adams, Anza, Arlington, Arnold, Fern, Hickory, Riviera, Seaside, Towers, Victor, Wood, and Yukon Elementary Schools. These schools have been recognized for their exemplary academic programs and performance. The Gold Ribbon Award recognizes those schools who have made tremendous academic gains through their educational programs, practices, standards-based activities, projects, and strategies.

Each and every day, TUSD faculty, staff, and administration work tirelessly to provide rigorous and meaningful educational experiences to all our students. TUSD teachers create classroom environments where students have ample opportunities to thrive. Students are able to master challenging content and expand their potential because of the efforts of the entire school community. “Congratulations to these schools for receiving this most distinguished honor,” said Martha Deutsch, Board President. “Our schools continue to shine and excel thanks to the hard work and dedication of our students, parents, teachers and staff.”

Torrance schools are fortunate because they enjoy strong relationships with various volunteer groups and organizations. The Parent Teacher Association, community members, and local businesses, all contributed tremendous resources and time to prepare the campus for the site visit by State officials as a part of the Gold Ribbon Awards process.

Once again, congratulations to all the 2016 Gold Ribbon Schools. You make TUSD proud!
