Most people look at corner lots as a plus, however even though you might get a bigger sized lot for the same price, it might not be what you want in the long run. There is more upkeep and maintenance as the total front yard area is usually much bigger. On the other hand look at this Torrance Home for sale, It sits perfectly on a corner lot on Maple Ave. There can be the problem of people using the sidewalks on either side and then cutting across the yard. Traffic noise could be much higher due to having a home basically on two different streets, however if there is stop signs then it might be less. Corner lots are not preferred by people who have young children as they usually would rather have larger backyards for the kids to play in. You could have more parking on a corner lot. The lot is much larger. You would only have one neighbor on the front side instead of two. You would usually have more unobstructed views out your windows. Corner lots allow more light to come into the home. It really comes down to your own preference and the corner lot and home itself. There are pros and cons and each situation has to be looked at individually. Price of course will play a big part in the consideration. Read More

It is often said that Torrance has everything. Well here is more proof it does. I will let you in on the best kept secret in the South Bay. It is the retirement community of New Horizons. Located on Maple Ave and Nadine Circle, just south of Sepulveda. This 55+ five hundred unit complex is a delight with all the amenities reminiscent of a Palm Springs complex. Believe it or not it even has a private par 3, 9-hole golf course plus a driving cage and putting green with water fall that is surrounded by homes on the Green. Other amenities include the Main Club house with par 3-9 hole golf course, driving cage, putting green with water fall picnic area. In the club house is the lounge with big screen TV, lounge, billiard room, and community room with remodeled kitchen. Across the complex on Nadine is the Sports Center with the second pool, spa, full modern gym, lighted tennis court, ceramic and wood shops, ping pong room and lots more. This lovely community is made up of 2 story condo buildings that vary in style. And 1 story, 3 unit condo bungalows. Many of these units have been remodeled to fill the needs of today’s home buyer. All of these condo units are dotted amongst lush landscapes with winding paths that make evening walks a delight. Read More

I was discussing how many employment opportunities that exist in the South Bay with a friend recently when she mentioned how many top name manufacturers have their U.S. Corp. headquarters in Torrance. Japanese automobile manufacturers Toyota and Honda maintain their North American headquarters in the South Bay, in the city of Torrance. Nissan was also headquartered in the South Bay until late 2005, when they relocated to Tennessee. Torrance continues to demonstrate its determination to provide a mixture of fine homes, a positive business/corporate environment and a safe atmosphere for living and raising a family. Read More
