Teen Choice Awards Comes To Hermosa Beach

The Teen Choice Awards are being staged in Hermosa Beach. The South Bay gets to enjoy a bit of Hollywood glitz with the likes of Taylor Swift, Robert Downey Jr., and Jessica Alba.

Why Hermosa Beach?

“It was intended to capture the Southern California beach lifestyle, which is the reason that the surfboards are the trophy,” said Bain, whose Bob Bain Productions has produced numerous shows, from the Critics’ Choice Awards to Trevor Noah specials. “It is fitting that finally after all these years we get an opportunity to stage this where I always felt it should be, which is outside on the beach in Southern California. But that requires a completely different logistical approach for all the obvious reasons.”

The City of Hermosa Beach welcomes the 2019 Teen Choice Awards airing live on FOX from the beach south of the Pier on Sunday August 11, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM (Pacific Time).

How to Attend this FREE Event…

South Bay Locals Only Wristbands
There will be a reserved area in the audience for local South Bay residents (Hermosa, Manhattan, and Redondo). A designated “Locals only wristband” will be required to access this area and will be available for pick-up at:
East lawn of the Hermosa Beach Community Center (710 Pier Avenue) 
Thursday August 8 and Friday August 9 from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM. 
An adult must be present at the time of wristband pickup and must provide proof of residency. There is a maximum of four (4) wristband per adult.

General Audience Wristbands

General Audience wristbands can be applied for online at:
All ages are welcome to attend as a general audience member, but you must be over 18 years of age to complete the online application. There is a maximum of four (4) wristbands per adult.

Getting to and From the Event

We HIGHLY recommend the use of alternative transportation options to get to and from the event as parking will be limited in the downtown area.

  • Rideshare: The Uber and Lyft Drop-off and Pick-up points will be on Pier Avenue between Manhattan Avenue and Palm Drive. Please use the designated rideshare drop-off and pick-up points only.
  • Bike Corral: Those biking to the event may drop off and lock their bikes in the bike corral located on the east side of Hermosa Avenue between 10th Street and Pier Avenue.
Traffic and Parking Impacts

From Monday August 5 to Monday August 12, public parking lots, city streets, the Pier, and the Strand may be temporarily impacted by the set-up and break-down of event-related equipment and infrastructure.

There will be street closures and traffic detours on Sunday August 11. The following closures will be in effect from 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM on Sunday August 11.
