When the theater opened, it was part of the then-burgeoning Aladdin chain of large drive-in theaters, which also included the Centinela Drive-In on the Culver City -Westchester border in Los Angeles.
The Torrance Drive-In was built on a 14.9-acre parcel of land, and had a capacity of 1200 cars. Torrance Drive-In, which closed without fanfare on Sunday, April 24, 1988, to make way for a planned residential development.
