Survey of Foreign Investors Ranks LA as tied for #1 in the United States 2018 Report:

Torrance Ranks Second in LA County

“Torrance ranks 2nd for foreign businesses infusing major revenues for the city. This from a 2008 report in the Daily Breeze.

 Last year, Torrance had 309 foreign-owned companies, including such major operations as Honda Motor Co.’s North American headquarters and Toyota Motor Corp.’s U.S. sales and marketing headquarters.

Only Los Angeles had more foreign-owned businesses at 1,633, according to the report on foreign direct investment by the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp.

Long Beach was third with 211.

Carson ranked eighth, with 92 businesses, and El Segundo was 12th, with 78.

Gardena, Inglewood and Redondo Beach also made the study’s top 26.

In all, the South Bay accounted for 718 of 4,384 such businesses, or 16.4 percent of the county’s foreign-owned businesses, the study says.”
