TUSD Schools Honored by State

Torrance schools were among the top in the state honored for their outstanding educational practices.

Tony Thurmond, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, announced 162 middle and high schools are being recognized as part of the 2019 Distinguished Schools Program, including Casimir Middle School, J.H. Hull Middle School and West High School in Torrance.

Schools are awarded for achieving exceptional student performances for two consecutive school years or closing the achievement gap between two school years. Specific indicators were test scores, suspension rates, and graduation rates.
